About the Speakers

Ade Babasola, professional engineer (P.Eng) practicing in Ontario Canada.

Ade is an Energy Transition enthusiast helping to shape the Energy Future. He is currently a Supervisor for Electrical Controls and Energy Systems at Enbridge Inc., one of the largest energy delivery companies in North America. He is also involved as the Chief Development Officer in a Startup, Waste2H2, based in Calgary, Alberta Canada with primary focus on developing technology solutions for pretreating organic waste and improving the efficiency of Anaerobic digestion process for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production. Ade is a graduate of the Black Leadership Academy, Mckinsey & Company and the Avatar Innovations (Ignite & Studio) program and currently participating in Avatar Ventures, an energy transition startup incubator.

A member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Ade completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario Canada. Ade is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

Dr. Malcolm Fabiyi, is the CEO and co-founder of Optimabiome, a cleantech company focused on the development of renewable energy and decarbonization solutions. He started his professional career as a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company. He worked with Praxair (now Linde) in the Research & Development organization, and became the Global Market Director for Praxair’s Water, Hydrometallurgy, Pulp & Paper and Textile segments. He holds eight patents for several commercialized innovations.

Dr Fabiyi has also worked in a number of organizations in C-Suite roles. He was Chief Technology Officer at Environmental Operating Solutions, President of US Operations for Hydromantis, Inc – a leader in process modeling software solutions for the environmental industry; COO & VP of Operations for Drylet, LLC an environmental biotech solutions company and COO at 3Degrees, a major climate solutions provider.

Dr Fabiyi has authored over 60 peer reviewed conference and journal papers, was selected to the Frontiers of Engineering program for the most promising young engineers in the USA by the National Academy of Engineering in 2008, and is a 2016 recipient of the Water Environment Federation’s Rudolfs Industrial Waste Treatment medal.

Dr. Fabiyi holds a BSc First Class degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth of Business, and a PhD in Chemical & Environmental Engineering from Cambridge University, England.
