Meet Our Speaker
Rick Vender, P.Eng., BASc, is a post career mechanical engineer who worked for most of his career in the High Voltage Electrical Industry as a product design and application engineer, project engineer, project manager and departmental staff manager. Rick hired many engineers and other technical staff in his career. Much of what he discusses is based on personal experience from being on both sides of the interview. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1978 and has been a professional engineer since 1980.
For the past 10 years since retiring, Rick has been successfully mentoring many engineers on job hunting. These engineers who may be having problems getting interviews and job offers, approach him for help. He works with them to aid their efforts in securing a good position quicker.
