Meet The Presenter
Dr. Ahmed Hassan is currently an instructor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, and he has been working in this capacity since 2020. During his time at Carleton (both as a student and instructor) he worked on several teaching initiatives including the use of Mobius and Mobius grading for assessments, leading student experience initiatives in his department, and leading an initiative that looks into undergraduate student interest in graduate studies.
He has also served on various committees and roles, such as University senate, search committee member for University President and the Faculty Dean, steering member on Carleton's Academic Staff Association (CUASA). Dr. Hassan's efforts inside and outside the classroom earned him multiple accolades including the Professional Achievement Award for Instructors, New Faculty teaching award, and Future Learning Innovation Fellowship. Dr. Hassan's expertise is in structural design and analysis, the topics in which he completed his graduate degrees.
